When in England, the first thing that comes to mind is
afternoon teas. Actually I spent some time in Leeds while I was in college near the Yorkshire dales and I visited a little cottage near
Bolton Abbey where they served afternoon tea. I think I was in cake heaven. They had the yummiest scones and
Meringue Pie. That's what started my non-official (for friends and family only) cake baking career. Today, although in the morning, I had the local Mum (notice my English spelling) and Toddler group round for coffee and cake (about 15 mums + kids). I thought it would be a good oppertunity to bake some

NY style cheesecake
paired with some

Scottish shortbread
and not to forget the

raisin scones
topped up with

jam and cream
You can tell from this and yesterday's post that I'm really into baking just now. I think it has to do with the weather turning into autumn. The body needs more comfort food. Well enjoy, while I dive into some left over scones.
