As promised more pictures of Venice Carnivale in the snow. The good thing about snow is that you don't have to worry too much about dust, as it all blends in with the snow ;) I've always struggled a bit with the horizontal and vertical pictures in blog format and then I saw this simple solution to pair two verticals on this blog by Tim Coulson. Beautiful pictures. Venice is famous for its Murano Glass. The beautiful shells are made from that. And those collars. I'm sure they have a specific name I don't know, but they remind me of paintings by Rembrandt

Thanks Bonnie, yes this series has a bit of gloom, but it was a bit of a day like that. I love looking back at the pictures especially the film ones. He will grow up too quickly for my liking for sure. They all three are. ;) sending hugs to you in sunny Florida
That kind of collar is called a "ruff".
Thanks VictoryGirl for letting me know. As a non native English speaker, it's always nice to learn new words :)
